Florence, the capital of Tuscany with about 400,000 inhabitants, is a city of art, where the numerous statues, squares, religious and civil buildings, palaces, auctions and museums make it unique.

How to get to Florence?

‍

Florence is a city located in the center of Italy and it is possible to arrive in different ways, by bus, train or plane. Once at the airport, getting to the center of Florence is easy, with different options.

‍

  • Bus: The Volainbus bus runs between Florence Airport and Piazza Stazione (Santa Maria Novella Train Station) every 30 minutes. It has a price of €6, and €10 if you buy a round trip.

  • Train: Trenitalia trains run several daily routes connecting Pisa Airport with the Santa Maria Novella station in Florence. The journey takes about an hour and the ticket price is € 9.70 each way.

  • Taxi: Cab is the fastest way to get to the center, it only takes 15 minutes. The price is 22€ for the day and 25€ for the night. In addition, there is a supplement of 1€ for each backpack.

How to move around Florence?

‍

Public transportation in Florence is based on a network of buses that connect all parts of the city.

  • Bus: Almost more than 100 bus lines make up the streets of Florence. The city now also has a special night service called “Nottetempo”. The most interesting lines for getting around the city center are C1, C2, C3 and C4. All lines are also electrically operated. Of the normal lines, lines 12 and 13 are particularly useful, as they run up the southern hill of the Arno River to Piazza Michelangelo and the Church of San Miniato al Monte. Their night system operates until 2:00 AM. If it is going to be your regular transportation you can purchase one of the passes. One of them is for 10 trips of 90 minutes for 10€. In addition, it has three streetcar lines that will allow you to move around the city.

Moving around Florence is quite easy, the transport pass costs 10€ for 10 trips. These trips have a duration of 90 minutes so it doesn't matter if you need to transfer.

All transport tickets can be consulted and purchased at ATAF, the city bus service. In addition, you can use different apps to get around Florence such as Google Maps.

Also noteworthy is the Boboli Garden, one of the best in Italy.
