The Universidad Europea of Madrid (UEM) is a private university located in the Community of Madrid, with additional campuses in Canary Islands and Valencia. In the Madrid region, it has two main campuses, located in Villaviciosa de Odón and Alcobendas. The latter was opened in the 2014/2015 academic year, expanding the educational offer that began in Villaviciosa de Odón, which was the first campus inaugurated by the institution in 1995.
UEM offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in a variety of fields, including Biomedical and Health Sciences, Architecture, Engineering and Design, and Social Sciences and Communication. However, one of its most renowned areas is Sports and Exercise Sciences, where it maintains partnerships with prestigious organizations, including Real Madrid, strengthening its reputation both in Spain and internationally.
When looking for accommodation, it is important to note that neither of the two Madrid campuses is located in the city center. Therefore, the best option is to live in an area that is well connected by public transport or that helps reduce travel time to the campus.
Villaviciosa de Odón is located to the west of Madrid, near municipalities such as Alcorcón, Móstoles, and Boadilla del Monte. The most convenient way to get there is by car, especially if you live outside the town. From central western districts like Latina or Arganzuela, the drive takes about 20 minutes. If you don’t have your own vehicle, bus line 518 connects Príncipe Pío with the Villaviciosa campus, making neighborhoods like Moncloa or Puerta del Ángel good alternatives as well, since they are only 10 minutes away by metro (Line 6) from Príncipe Pío.
Alcobendas, on the other hand, is located to the northeast of Madrid, in a modern and well-connected area. In this case, a practical option is to live in Alcobendas itself or in nearby neighborhoods. From the city center, it is easy to reach via commuter train line C4 from Atocha or Sol, with a journey of approximately 30 minutes, or by bus line 159 from Plaza Castilla, which connects the Chamartín district with the campus in about 40 minutes.
